- Heathrow International Airport

London Heathrow Airport or Heathrow (IATA: LHR, ICAO: EGLL), is the largest, busiest airport in the United Kingdom and the world's third busiest airport for passenger traffic. It handles more international passenger traffic than any other airport in the world. It is famous of serving as link between Europe and the rest of the continents.

Located 15 miles (24 km) west of Central London, Heathrow has two parallel main runways running east-west and five terminals. The airport provides a wide range of facilities including those for business, children and the disabled. In addition, a full range of 1st class airport services are offered.

Arriving in airport

The arrivals areas at Heathrow are in the following locations:
  • Terminal 1: Ground floor (international); first floor (UK and Ireland)
  • Terminal 2: First floor (at the opposite end from departures)
  • Terminal 3: Ground floor of the arrivals building
  • Terminal 4: Ground floor
  • Terminal 5: Ground level

Passport control

For all passengers not making a connect flight first stop is passport control. There are 2 queuing areas – one is for European Union (EU) and British nationals, the other for all other nationalities.

Baggage claim

After passport control you can follow the signs for the baggage claim area.You can find which carousel your need by checking your flight number in the informations screens.

Meeting Points

This sign marks the official meeting points on the terminal 1-4.The meeting points are on following locations:
  • Terminal 1: In the international arrivals area (ground floor), opposite the BAA information desk and next to the London Underground escalator
  • Terminal 2: Next to the BAA information desk on the first floor. The Costa coffee shop, also on the first floor, is a popular informal meeting point
  • Terminal 3: In the seated area in the arrivals hall (ground floor of the arrivals building)
  • Terminal 4: Next to the BAA information desk in arrivals (ground floor)
